Transcal Aerolite rail seat 2016

Introducing Transcal’s Aerospace inspired lightweight fully compliant rail seat.

The Aerolite seat is an opportunity for customers to integrate weight saving technologies and design principles from the Aerospace industry into their trains. ACRO’s proven design and construction from the aerospace industry provided the foundation for the evolution of Aerolite. This novel product combines ergonomic design and functionality to create a new level of passenger comfort.

The seat has been subjected to a full 3D crash simulation using a seat pitch of 780mm. Test results confirm full compliance to GM/RT2100 Issue 5 for both injury and integrity, with an impressive HIC figure of below 60. With a quick fit trim system, unskilled operators can swap out the trim in under 30 seconds using a standard rail key.

Drawing on trends from across fashion and interior design Transcal can offer a number of bespoke finishes, ranging from different colours and materials to advanced techniques and decoration including embroidery, embossing and digital printing.
