Transcal worked with RPW in London to create bespoke embroidered headboards for the newly refurbished Patio Suites in the Marriott Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Marriott hotel in Tbilisi is a 5-star hotel situated in a historic building which overlooks the main avenue in the centre of Tbilisi.
With Georgia being located within one of the oldest viticulture regions in the world, it is extremely well known for its culture, and wine. Taking inspiration from architectural detail found in and around Tbilisi, the design team decided to focus on original patterns for the embroidery, to combine classical tradition with contemporary style. Unique pattern placement was carefully considered with intricate stitching to portray bespoke textures and shadows.
The hotel features stunning architectural details, such as an atrium-style lobby replete with striking crystal chandeliers. There are luxury settings throughout, boasting sleek marble bathrooms, luxury bedding, and scenic city views – an inspiring project to be part of.
